The boudoir experience is so much about self-love and self-investment, that we really wanted to level up and create a luxurious experience. Enter our first ever Luxury Boudoir Pop Up. For this all day event, we really took our time and spoiled our two ladies who booked. Today’s blog post features one of these beauties who was kind enough to share some words about her experience.

This gorgeous babe brought 👏 the 👏 heat 👏 for her session!! What began as a wedding gift for her new hubby turned into a transformational self-love experience! Which honestly happens more often than you’d think and I LOVE IT! She shared some of her thoughts on her boudoir experience with us, and loves, if you’ve been contemplating a session, you’re going to want to read what she had to say!!

This beauty reached out to me with a powerful story and I was thrilled to be able to capture her vision for this shoot. Her goal was to honor her late father through a boudoir-inspired lifestyle shoot, and the energy she brought that day was amazing! Grief is an indescribable experience that affects us and changes us in so many ways. She chose to share her personal story for our blog, and I hope you’re just as inspired and moved by it as we were!

So, understandably, I was extremely nervous to strip down to almost nothing.  I comforted myself knowing that this shoot was going to be a present for my husband who will be deploying in April.  He knows my body.  He knows my imperfections and loves me anyway.  What I didn’t expect was that I would fall in love with my body, too.  As women, we often neglect to love ourselves down to our bareness.  We forget that in the beginning God made the woman in God’s own image and called her beautiful.  We are quick to criticize our bodies and hid ourselves away. 

This boudoir session showed me that my body IS beautiful.  When my husband and I looked at the photos, he stopped me at the one with a perfect shot of my ass.  He turned to me and said, “See?  THAT is what your ass looks like.  NOW, do you see how damn sexy you are?”  And, I have to say YES.  Yes, I do, and I love it.  I love ME. 

What do I even say about this woman. This session literally has me speechless… When confidence, ownership in your sexuality and sensuality, knowing who you are as an individual, not being afraid to make a fool of yourself, and a little bit of Prosecco collide, this is what is produced. I think I found the second coming of Marilyn and the Goddess herself would 100% approve! I know I say this all the time, but HOW THE HELL DID I GET SO LUCKY?! I literally have the best job on the planet.

If you follow any of my work, you know I am not shy about pushing out (you see what I did there?) as many maternity boudoir sessions as possible, but what about the mamas after they have their little nuggets. Well, let me introduce to you new mommy boudoir. Somewhere between being pregnant, having a baby, and then all the things that come with keeping said little human alive, a women can lose that feeling of “sexy'“. Let me tell you about how to find it! This AMAZING woman just had her little nugget a month and some change before this session (I know, she looks stellar, right?!). I don’t believe that her prerogative was to be reminded of how gorgeous she is, it was to surprise her sweet hubby, but in the process, she’s realized that even after recently having the most adorable baby on the planet, she was still the stunning woman that won his affection. This happened, kind of, inadvertently and she rocked it. Yes, you can be a mom and wife, but still have your autonomy. You can take care of them, love them, keep them alive and still be a sensual goddess.

Lauren was my first boudoir session out of the new studio in Raleigh NC! She came in, she rocked it out and I have been bragging about the portraits ever since! Lauren works in the wine industry and is a woman of good taste with a strong flavor palate. She is truly stunning and her confidence just pours (pun intended) out of these photos! She showed up with two perfect bodysuits, bright blue heels and a strong red lip. The rest is history... I know you are going to love these portraits as much as I do!
