The Self-Love Survival Kit: What Every Woman Needs When the World Gets Loud

Sis, if it feels like the world is doing the absolute most right now, you’re not imagining it.

Our rights are being chipped away. The news cycle is a mess. Social media is a dumpster fire of body critiques, political chaos, and unsolicited opinions on what women should or shouldn’t be doing with their lives. And somewhere between Roe v. Wade and TikTok wellness trends, you're supposed to thrive?

Let’s be for real.

That’s why every woman needs a Self-Love Survival Kit. This is your personal collection of things that keep you grounded, glowing, and feeling like that girl, even when the world is screaming. Think of it like emotional armor...but sexy. Here’s what to keep in your kit when everything feels like too much:

1. Your “Main Character” Playlist

Music changes moods. Period. Create a playlist that reminds you who the actual fuck you are. The one you strut to in your house in lingerie or play after crying in your car. Need a few to start?

Try:

  • “Thique” by Beyoncé

  • “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter

  • “WTP” by Teyana Taylor

  • Anything by Megan, SZA, or Jazmine Sullivan

Music is literally CPR for the soul…

2. A Lingerie Set You Bought Just for You

You don’t need a partner or a photoshoot to feel fine AF. The right lingerie is a whole spiritual experience. Wear it while cooking. While journaling. While watching Love Island USA and wondering why It took Olandria so freaking long to realize that Taylor just didn’t like her (I should really do a blog or two on colorism some day) and that Nic is the actual love of her life (always go to where you’re love and appreciated, even if it doesn’t look how you imagined!)

Whether it’s La Luxure Lingerie or your favorite satin number, slipping into something soft is a radical act of protest, pleasure, and power.

3. A Body-Positive Mirror Ritual

We talk to ourselves like trash sometimes, let be for real. Stop that. Every morning or night, stand in front of your mirror and speak to yourself like you would a best friend.

Try this:

“This body is mine. This mind is brilliant. This soul is sacred. And anyone who can’t handle me? May they fuck all the way off. May the Universe remove them from my life.”

Do it even when you don’t believe it yet, you will eventually.

4. A Go-To Boudoir Photographer or Self-Love Coach

You knew this was coming. Obviously.
Whether you're in need of a confidence boost, a sensual awakening, or just someone to remind you that you’re that bitch, this is your sign to book the shoot, sis. I’m talking boudoir photography here in North Carolina with me…that’s raw, empowering, and zero percent about the male gaze.

(P.S. Nine19 Photography was literally built for this.)

And if you're navigating a confidence drought, trauma healing, or just trying to love yourself louder, I also offer self-love coaching that holds space for all of it.

5. A “Nope” List

Write this down: You don’t have to say yes to everything. Your energy is a precious resource. Keep a list of hard boundaries. These are things you're not entertaining this season.

That might include:

  • Body shame

  • Comparison spirals

  • Unavailable men with emotional support podcasts

  • Diet culture

  • Saying “it’s fine” when it’s absolutely not fine

Be prepared to say no but also speak up when these things happen around you, even if it happens to others. Community is important right now, more than ever. Boundaries are love.

6. A Soft Place to Land

Create a vibe where you can land after the world gets too heavy. Candles. Pillows. A journal. A glass of wine. A playlist of “Hot Girl Meditations.” (or maybe I should make one for us?!) Build a little altar for your peace and return to it often.

Self-love isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it’s gritty, lonely, and hard. But it’s also your secret weapon when the world is trying to convince you to play small.

So when life gets loud, get louder. With your joy. With your boundaries. With your body. And if you ever forget who you are, I’m right here to remind you.
