She brought one of her hubby’s shirts and I always say, shirts and sporting tops are some of the hardest things to make sexy and it was like she said “bet” and then showed me how it was done! Sometimes, I think clients feel like they have to have an excuse to do a boudoir session and that’s simply not the case. Sometimes, you love your body exactly the way it is and you want to document it in it’s perfect state of perfection. Sometimes, you need reassurance about your body so you can love it exactly the way that it is and seeing it through someone else’s lens is the perfect way to do that! New Year, Pretty Much Same Me- Self Portrait Boudoir- In Studio Session Nine19 Photography Raleigh NC- Kimberly
We all say it, “New Year, New Me!” Well as I look back over my personal life, my business, and my work I can truly say that I have grown but I am pretty much the same old me and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. At my core, I am still the person that I have always been. I enjoy laughing and having a good time. An artist, true and true, even to a fault. Emotional and sensitive, yet cold and abrasive at times. I care about others even to the detriment of myself and my own wellbeing sometimes and even in those moments I would still say that it was worth it. As it feels I am opening a new chapter in my life, with a few major changes and some serious life lessons learned, I wanted to celebrate me in the only way I would tell anyone else to celebrate, with a bad ass boudoir session! That’s right, I did one too and it wont be the last! You can expect one every year from here on out, because as difficult as it is to look at your own flaws in the editing room, I feel incredibly proud of myself and these portraits!

If you would have told me 3 years ago that I would be where I am today—guest blogging about a super-sexy boudoir photoshoot that rocked my world for the better— I think I would have laughed you out of the room.
See, three years ago I was a staunchly faithful, Mormon woman living in the heart of Utah—a place the locals call, “Happy Valley”. For anyone unfamiliar with Mormonism, it’s a shortened term for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or LDS Church.
When most people think of Mormonism, they think of TV shows about polygamy, like “Big Love,” “Sister Wives,” or “Three Wives, One Husband”. Polygamy is practiced in sects that branched off of the original Mormon Church, but luckily for me it wasn’t practiced in the “mainstream Mormon” world I grew up in.
Throwback Thursday 2015 Jaw-Dropping Boudoir- At Home with Caroline- Nine19 Photography
If you have followed my work for any extended length of time, you have probably seen the above image a million times. This was from my second boudoir session and it was the moment that I realized that I wanted boudoir to be my passion! I realized in this image that I was capable and could help women realize their beauty by letting them see themselves the way that I saw them. I coined the phrase “see yourself through someone else’s lens” because that is truly what most of us ladies deal with, only seeing ourselves from our point of view and all of the negative thoughts that we have created come right along with that. I realized that by shooting these boudoir session, I could give other women new perspective on themselves, fight against all of the terrible things that we think about ourselves and also give women new found confidence in the sweet support and comments from those who follow my work. If it weren’t for this session, I am not sure that I would be doing boudoir photography, so thank you to Caroline for trusting me with something that would help build the way to such an amazing career (that is just getting started!)

Stephanie was an ABSOLUTE blast and popped in to The Studio in Holly Springs, North Carolina with confidence blazing! As soon as the camera came out she was putting in work! Between a cathedral length veil, AH-MAZING Betsy Johnson heels, the perfect bodysuit from The Bralette Co and her now hubby's t-shirt, Stephanie strutted her stuff and we made shit happen! She is literally brains (YAS Mrs. Scientist!) and beauty on 10! You all know how much I love a smart woman who has confidence and Stephanie just glittered in both. A woman with a full sexy figure and the rare skin condition, Vitiligo, she made it a point to make sure I kept her true to life. This is the body that her new husband knows and loves, the same one that she loves too!
Steamy and Stunning Boudoir At Home- Candace- Raleigh NC
Candace is a wonderful woman who was getting married and in need of a quick gift to give to her future hubby! I reached out to my homie, Kassy for help with hair and makeup and we spent the morning glamming and posing! Candace was just so awesome to work with. Her confidence just filled the room and it was hard not to leave this session feeling on top of the world #contagiousconfidence. This woman has energy for days and was not shy about how much she loved her life! We rolled through this session and made sure to produce classy portraits that we just knew her fiance would love! Good thing we worked quick, because someone decided to come home early. Which leads me to an important note: Dear Gents, if your wife/girlfriend/life partner is purchasing new lingerie and kicks you out of the house for the day, trust her, haha! She's with me and you will thank her later for it!

Sarah is many things. A brilliant woman in tech, web designer, hilarious, athletic and sexy are just a few ways to describe her. I met her at her home in Raleigh and instantly connected with her. She is a strong woman in a male dominated industry and proud of it. She even takes time out of her schedule to speak with young women and girls that are interested and motivated to join the Silicon Valley of the South.
