boudoir isn’t a one time experience. period.- NC Boudoir Photography
You booked your boudoir session. You showed up. You probably felt nervous as hell, then walked out feeling like that girl. You proved to yourself you could do the damn thing and you did it beautifully.
But here’s the thing no one talks about enough: boudoir IS NOT a one-time experience. It’s not a “check it off your self-love to-do list and never do it again” moment. Boudoir is a journey, and like any journey, you grow. You change. You come back to it with new energy, new stories, new reasons to celebrate your body and your evolution.
And that’s why coming back for another session isn’t extra, it’s essential.
The first time? You’re getting your feet wet. You’re figuring it out. You might still be a little unsure about how to pose, what to wear, or whether you “deserve” to be in front of the camera (spoiler: you always do). But the second time? You show up differently. You already know the vibe. You trust yourself more. And that confidence? It radiates.
Each time you return to the studio, you’re not just getting photos, you’re documenting your growth. You’re capturing chapters of your life that deserve to be honored.
So many of my NC boudoir clients come back after big life changes: divorces, birthdays, new relationships, heartbreaks, moves, career shifts. The boudoir studio becomes a safe space to release, reclaim, and remind themselves that they’re still powerful, still soft, still worthy.
Sometimes, it’s not about feeling sexy. Sometimes, it’s about feeling seen. And that’s worth coming back for again and again.
From one of my favorite clientfrands! Since writing this, she has had 3 boudoir experiences with me at Nine19 Studio. The session in this blog is her second session with me and the difference between this session and her first is undeniable. Her confidence and her vulnerability in this second session is amazing to see, but don’t take it from me, here she is in her own words:
“First off, I am going to give a huge kudos to the infamous photographer, Kimberly! She’s so cool, sweet and dope and her personality is kick-ass! I love how Kimberly introduced herself to me—not via email, not via text—but video chat. Our chat was personable and she made me feel really comfortable.
Okay let’s get into the meat and potatoes of my two FABULOUS photoshoots that I had with Nine19 Photography! Why I chose to do this particular shoot is so that I can see the REAL me. I’m one of those selfie queens; always taking the photos, seeing them from my lens, my viewpoint. These sessions allowed me to see myself in a lens where I am no longer hidden in plain sight; here I am, raw and unfiltered.
For me, my first session was trial and error. I was able to identify my zones of comfort and discover my confidence. I am a woman who has always struggled with maintaining a weight that was ideal for me. And after a car accident that I had in 2022, I wasn’t sure if I would be “happy” with the results of this shoot. But after receiving my photos, I couldn’t believe how amazing and beautiful I truly am. I was finally pictured through a lens of no modifications; this was really ME! A part of me felt that just a little something was missing in these photos.
So, I had a plan. I told Kimberly that I wanted to do another shoot (of course she was elated and happy to oblige) while all putting together a plan for the next 4 months. By all means necessary, I was getting in that gym no matter the pain that that car accident left me with. This second session was my moment of redemption. I lost about 30 pounds and HONNNNEEEYYY *snap snaps*! My confidence was boosted. I felt sexy. I felt engaged in this shoot. All Kimberly had to do was bring the camera and I brought the body! And the results…AHH! I was so extremely proud and happy with the results. I could tell the difference. I seemed more sure this second time around.
Watch out! Session 3 is loading. You don’t want to miss this!”
One of the biggest shifts I see in repeat clients is how they talk about their bodies. The first time, there might be nerves or hesitation. The second time? They’re focused on how they feel more than how they look. They’re choosing lingerie that feels good on their skin. They’re laughing more. They’re taking up space in the studio with zero apologies.
Each session chips away at the old stories.
Your second (or third or fourth) session isn’t a repeat, it’s a reintroduction. It’s a new season. New mindset. New level of self-love.
You’re not who you were during your last shoot. And isn’t that a beautiful reason to do it again?
Whether it’s been six months or six years, the door is always open. Your glow-up isn’t just happening, it’s unfolding in real time. And I’d be honored to capture it.
Ready for round two (or three)? Let’s do it. Your evolution is worth remembering.
