WOWZA!!! I mean seriously, this woman is F’N on FIRE. An absolute stunner and my personal hair stylist, I was super stoked to get her in my element and make her feel as beautiful as she makes me feel every two weeks! Not only was she willing to come in for her boudoir session, she was amazing and decided to write her “boudwhy” she had her session done. I appreciate her honesty and bravery in putting herself out there. I know it’s scary to come in and really expose yourself, but (as I have said a million times) it is so worth it!

In Her Words…
So, about a week ago I did a boudoir shoot. I was so nervous that I was trying to think of every excuse in the book of not to go to this session. A few days before, I was bitten by a swarm of red ants all over my feet, so I was like “Bitch! This is your opportunity to get out of this session!” I was also trying my hardest to lose 10 to 15 pounds in a matter of two weeks and I was driving myself crazy in the head thinking about how am I going to look once these pictures came out? What is my husband going to think when he sees these photos? Is he just going to see someone out of shape that he doesn’t feel attracted to because I’m not the same person that I was physically when I first met him. Every negative thought that you could possibly think of went through my brain. But something just came over me and said “Bitch. Get your shit together...Do the shoot, whether you like it or not. You are going to love the results.”
So, after I got my make up done that gave me a little boost but when I got to Kimberly Angel she made me feel so empowered and so beautiful that I, actually, felt bad because I had been bashing myself. I had to apologize to me and also to God because I was created by Him, I was created differently by HIM!!!! I am supposed to love every curve, every inch, every flaw of me because if I don’t love and appreciate me how do I expect someone else to do that?
Now I’m not going to say that I did not have the confidence before this shoot but if you are not where you think you are supposed to be physically you will have doubts and I created every possible doubt. The mind will make you feel like you are not supposed to do these things (the Boudoir session) but I will be damned if by the end of that shoot I did not feel more empowered and I really did not give a fuck about what anybody had to say about how I looked or how they even perceived me.
I left feeling like every woman needs to do one of these shoots at least once in their lifetime. I especially feel like Women of Color should, because we have so much put on us from a day-to-day basis that we don’t even take the time to think about how beautiful we are inside, how beautiful we hold onto other people situations, how beautiful we hold on to ourselves, or our children. We need to embrace that beauty, flaws and all! I just want to show my appreciation to Kimberly for encouraging me to do a boudoir session and for giving me the opportunity to do this shoot because I love me even more.
